Since its beginning 31 years ago, the Siteman Cancer Center bone marrow and stem cell transplant program has grown to one of the largest in the world. The program completed its 5000th transplant in July on a patient with multiple myeloma. Siteman's John DiPersio, MD, PhD, and Peter Westervelt, MD, PhD, discuss the progress the program has made and how cutting-edge research and treatment at Siteman continue to save more lives.
